Turkey and feta cheese burgers

I love the food of the Middle East with the robust spices and refreshing herbs all combined with bold and punchy flavours.

I have made these Turkey burgers a few times now for my family and they always go down really well.



you will need:


500g Minced turkey thigh

150g feta cheese

1 diced red onion

50g fresh breadcrumbs

1tsp cumin seeds

1/2 bunch fresh dill

salt and pepper

Crumble the feta cheese and add to all of the ingredients in a mixing bowl, now to get your hands dirty! give everything a really good mix to make sure all is combined and put the mixture in the fridge to chill down for about 30 minutes.

You can always replace the dill with either flat leaf parsley or fresh mint depending on your preference.

I always use breadcrumbs with very lean meats like turkey as it can be very dry and the breadcrumbs will help retain the moisture when cooking.

Once the mixture is nicely chilled you can start to make the burgers. This mix should make about ten small burgers. To cook the burgers, heat a frying pan on the stove and add a little oil. Place the burgers into the pan and fry on each side for about 5-7 minutes. please make sure your meat is cooked through. You can serve these delicious burgers with some baba ghanoush, wholemeal pitta bread, tzatziki and a lovley bulgur wheat salad.
